Innovation Pitch Competition

Your Idea. Your Impact. 90 Seconds.

Do you have an idea that could change the world—or at least make it better? You could win $500!

April 16, 2026 3:00 PM in the Math Auditorium

The Innovation Pitch Competition challenges students to communicate a powerful idea in 90 seconds or less. Participants may propose either:

  • A new product or service, or
  • A societal innovation that addresses a real problem in the community or world.

This competition is designed to develop one of the most important entrepreneurial skills: clearly communicating an idea that creates value.

Great ideas do not change the world unless people understand them. Your challenge is to explain your innovation clearly, convincingly, and quickly.

What Can You Pitch?

Your innovation may fall into one of two categories:

Product Innovation

A new product, technology, or service that solves a problem or improves an existing solution.

Examples

  • A wearable device that monitors hydration levels
  • A mobile app that helps students manage time more effectively
  • A sustainable packaging solution
Societal Innovation

A new approach that improves communities, addresses social problems, or creates positive societal impact.

Examples

  • A system that reduces food waste on college campuses
  • A program that improves financial literacy for young adults
  • A new approach to improving access to mental health services
